CARE & MAINTENANCE OF YOUR SOLID TERRAIN MODEL
DUSTING THE MAP
You can dust your Solid Terrain Model using light air pressure and dust mops. Using care and patience will ensure that no damage is done to the model’s surface.
Be extremely careful when making any sort of mechanical contact with the surface of your Solid Terrain Model. Never drag extension cords, vacuum attachments, hoses or cables across the face of your model as they have the potential to damage the surface. Also be sure never to rest equipment on or against your model.
SPILLS
Accidental spills of liquid can be cleaned from your model by blotting with a clean cloth or paper towel. If a spill has left dry residue, a small quantity of warm water can be used to loosen the material, then blot the area dry.
SCARS, DENTS & CRACKS
The surface of the model is susceptible to damage through contact with any hard object by impact or abrasion. Should the surface of your model become broken it is important to repair it promptly. Once the surface of you model has been broken, the potential for further damage increases dramatically. Take pictures of the damage and contact STM immediately.
